Experiencing Student Lab Exchange at National Chung Hsing University, Taiwan

I am Frans, a dedicated student from the Department of Management, Faculty of Economics and Management at IPB University, class of 2020. During my 8th semester, from February to June 2024, I was fortunate to embark on a life-changing journey through the NCHU Spring Lab Exchange Program at National Chung Hsing University in Taiwan.

This exchange program provided a unique platform for me to delve into research under the esteemed guidance of Prof. Lee Tzong-Ru, focusing on marketing sustainability. My primary research involved a comparative analysis of the purchase intentions of Carbon Labeled Products between Indonesian and Taiwanese consumers. This research not only broadened my academic horizons but also provided invaluable insights into consumer behavior across different cultural contexts.

In addition to my research endeavors, I had the privilege of attending an enlightening course on Introduction to Taiwanese Culture. The curriculum, coupled with several immersive cultural trips organized by OIA NCHU, allowed me to gain a profound appreciation of Taiwan’s rich history, vibrant culture, and the nuanced perspectives of its people. These experiences were instrumental in enhancing my cultural competence and global awareness.

Participating in this student exchange program was undeniably one of the most enriching experiences of my academic career. It afforded me the opportunity to acquire substantial knowledge, fostered personal growth, and enabled me to build a diverse network of professors and international peers. The friendships and professional connections I forged during this period are invaluable and will undoubtedly play a pivotal role in my future endeavors, both personally and professionally.

The exchange program not only augmented my academic and cultural understanding but also equipped me with a global perspective that will be indispensable as I navigate my post-campus life. This transformative experience has significantly shaped my outlook and aspirations, making it an unforgettable chapter in my educational journey.
