Welcoming Event SAMI 2019

Sustainable Agrifood Management in Indonesia (SAMI) Summer Course is now reaching its third year. With the theme “From Traditional to Digital”, SAMI 2019 has a multidisciplinary approach that integrates agricultural, food technology, and management science in a systematic manner. This approach allows us to comprehensively learn integrated agri-food value chain from upstream to downstream and from traditional mechanism and road to digital transformation in the agricultural sector. Participants will have the opportunity to meet professionals from different fields. They will provide in-depth analysis of sustainable agrifood management topics as well as on further career opportunities in the field.

The welcoming event of SAMI 2019 was held in Grand Garden Cafe, located inside the Bogor Botanical Garden on August 18th, 2019. The event was attended by the Vice Dean of Resources, Cooperation, and Development Faculty of Economics and Management IPB University, Dr. Tanti Novianti, the Head Department of Management, Dr. Wita Juwita Ermawati, S.T.P., M.M, the Secretary of the Department of Management, M Syaefudin Andrianto M.Si, lecturers and staff of the Department of Management, and SAMI 2019 participants which come from Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand, Cambodia, Vietnam, India, Japan, and Germany.

The event started at 14.40 by the opening from Master of Ceremony. Thereafter, Dr. Tanti Novianti on behalf of the Faculty Dean of Economics and Management presented her remark statement followed by a speech from Dr. Wita Juwita Ermawati, S.T.P., M.M to welcome the SAMI participants to Indonesia especially Bogor, and to SAMI Summer Course agenda. Next, the participants enjoyed their lunchtime.

Around 3.30 pm, M Syaefudin Andrianto M.Si introduced all the lecturers and staff that are present, followed by an introduction of liaison officers by Master of Ceremony. SAMI participants also introduced themselves and shared their expectations in the 10-days courses, followed by photo sessions. Then, the participants took their own time to enjoy Bogor Botanical Garden. At 17.30, all the participants headed to their lodging at Hotel Duta Berlian.
